So our summer list has boasted ?Lemonade Stand? for quite some time. The kids have been begging to set one up. I had given lemonade stand supplies as gifts to some dear friends. I also picked up some for the kiddos so they really only needed the lemonade. After a trip to the store and a secret family recipe, this small business venture was up and running. Dad even hooked them up with some shade cover. This was no laughing matter. These kids were ready to roll! It was a bit of an emotional roller coaster at first:
??????happy {ready to start selling!}
????..devastation {first taste of rejection}
?
?????..elation {business picked up}
I have to admit that the whole experience was so much fun to watch. My hubby and I sat on our front porch and listened in to all the cute conversations. They were polite and sweet. The customers were extremely supportive of their business venture and all in all it was pretty darn hilarious. Especially when my son busted out his dance moves. Even Grammy and Papa showed up to buy a glass or two.
And here is my daughter. Hard at work. I must admit I was pretty impressed with her sales skills. She had repeat customers and even needed mom to refill the lemonade. When someone didn?t have money she asked if they wanted to play a guessing game to win a cup! She asked them what number she was thinking of, and low and behold. . . they always knew!
Oh, and here is my son hard at work. Hmmmm. So much I want to say, but won?t! No, in all fairness, he really didn?t sit down very much. He earned his money!
?
And just when you think it was all sunshine and lollipops, my husband sat down with the kids and their earnings to discuss the amount they owed for supplies and the money they should think about reinvesting into their next venture. Oh, boy. See what I am working with over here! {Luckily, the kids had an amazing time and made a crazy amount of money so they are still all smiles. Even after their small business lesson!}.
What about you all? Any summer businesses popping up? Cheers to enjoying the sweet memories of summer.
???.
Be sure to pop in tomorrow to see the winner of the photo shoot with Meghan Owens. I am so envious. Have you seen her latest photo shoot of her own little one swimming. Amazing.
