Just wanna drop a quick tip that my home people over at the Beneathearth Film Festival are offering a free panel tomorrow?Weds. August 8th in New York City at the Wix Lounge.

Among the team of expert panelists doling out filmmaking strategies and wisdom for free is my colleague, Chris Chan Roberson, who you many of you will recall shared some excellent advice on shooting commercials in my new book, The Shut Up and Shoot Freelance Video Guide, so you know it will be a worthwhile event.

Andrew S. Allen:?Combining a background in design and film, Andrew S Allen, is steeped in the world of innovative storytelling. Founder of Short of the Week?the premiere curation site devoted to discovering the greatest stories of our time and pioneering methods of promotion. Director/Producer of the acclaimed short film, The Thomas Beale Cipher. Named one of 25 New Faces in Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine with work featured in Wired, Fast Company, and The Atlantic. Co-Founder of FiftyThree Inc. and creator of the creativity app, Paper?winner of the 2012 Apple Design Award.

Jason Sondhi:?A filmmaker, writer and curator, Jason Sondhi is co-founder of Short of the Week, the web?s premiere destination for short film recommendations and criticism. Managing the site?s editorial and social media presence, he has positioned Short of the Week at the nexus of the film and digital worlds. A graduate of the University of Washington, he now calls New York home, as curator of the online video platform Vimeo.

Chris Chan Roberson:?Chris is the Co-Founder of Etc? experimental troupe comedy.Chris has won a Telly Award for his editing work while at Robert Small Entertainment and was an editor for television shows on Comedy Central, The Biography Channel, and TV Land.? Chris has also worked on a number of projects with the Narrative Trust, a company that focuses on oral history. Independently he has edited internet-based projects for Christian McBride, Sting, and Sony Music, as well as internet episodes for The Burg, The All-For-Nots and All?s Faire.

Adam Schartoff:?Adam Schartoff, a longtime resident of Brooklyn, is the founder and programmer of the New York based film series, Filmwax. The series focuses primarily, though not exclusively, on local filmmakers but entirely on independent film. Audiences can come see the films, then engage with the filmmakers. Film screenings take place in such venues as Franklin Park, the Brooklyn Museum, The Maysles Cinema, the 92nd Street Y/Tribeca and elsewhere. For more information, visit filmwax.com.?
