Bottom Line - Celeb real estate: Air Jordan, Anderson Cooper are ...

By Erika Riggs, Zillow

This week in celebrity real estate, one of the biggest names in basketball, Michael Jordan, posts his enormous estate on the open market. Also Anderson Cooper moves on from his chic NYC penthouse and Dancing with the Stars contestant Gavin DeGraw lists a remarkably normal home for sale.

Michael Jordan lists Chicago-area estate for $29 million

Zillow

Michael Jordan's famous jersey number marks the front gates of his home.

An indoor regulation-sized basketball court, high-end amenities, and security gates emblazoned with the famous number 23 ? this sprawling Chicago estate can only belong to one person.

Michael Jordan's Chicago-area home has officially hit the Highland Park real estate market with a price tag befitting the NBA MVP: $29 million.

Five years after Jordan's pricy divorce from his wife of 17 years, Juanita, their longtime home is for sale. Although the home has more than just a few traces of the Hall of Famer, Juanita is the one who reportedly owns the property, winning it in their $168 million divorce settlement.

The custom home sprawls over eight acres in the high-end Chicago suburb of Highland Park. Situated about 30 miles outside of Chicago, Highland Park home values currently average $387,400.

Zillow

The Jordans' custom estate was finished in 1995.

The Jordans' home has 56,000 square feet of living space, which includes nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms and five fireplaces. The property also includes a guesthouse, pool area, outdoor tennis court and three garages.

Anderson Cooper lists Garment District penthouse for $3.75 million

Zillow

A floating staircase leads from the entry to the main living space.

A penthouse with "unparalleled style and sophistication" could only have an owner with the same sensibilities.

Anderson Cooper's apartment is a former manufacturing space completely transformed into a sleek bachelor pad by the talk-show host and CNN news anchor. According to property records, Cooper bought the home in 2005 for $2.48 million. With his renovations completed, the two-floor penthouse was recently listed for sale in the Garment District for $3.75 million.

Filled with custom touches ? from Lustron lighting and multi-room surround sound system to aged Chambord oak floors and etched glass detailing ? Cooper's home has about 3,100 square feet of living space, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. A landscaped deck with gas grill adds an additional 1,700 square feet.

Zillow

Walls of acid-etched glass separate portions of the master bath.

The first floor holds the master suite and attached master bath, which features limestone and teak flooring, a claw-foot soaking tub and large shower.

Up a floating staircase, the gourmet kitchen leads to an open dining area and living room with wood-burning fireplaces and views of downtown Manhattan.

DWTS contestant and singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw lists Florida home

Gavin DeGraw's home is probably not what most people picture when they hear the phrase "celebrity real estate."

Zillow

Gavin DeGraw's home is a Spanish-style bungalow.

Although the singer/songwriter's home is listed on the Hollywood real estate market, it's the other Hollywood ? the one in Florida. And unlike other stars' properties, the home is listed for six figures, not seven or more.

According to the property listing, and public sales records, DeGraw purchased the home for $510,000 in May 2006. The home is now listed for a loss at $365,000 ? a 71 percent price cut.

DeGraw first gained popularity when his song "I Don't Want To Be" was used as the theme song for TV's drama "One Tree Hill" and his following album release "Chariot" was certified platinum.

Zillow

One clue to the owner of the home? A room filled with instruments.

It was also just announced that DeGraw will be adding dancing to his repertoire this spring with a stint on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

Born and raised in South Fallsburg, NY, a small hamlet about two hours north of New York City, DeGraw likely used this home ? and a condo he bought in Hollywood in 2007, which is located closer to the beach ? for his snowbird getaways.
