Kazuo ?Kaz? Hirai, Sony?s current Executive Deputy President is set to become the new president for the Japanese giant as soon as April as reported by Nikkei.

Sony has been looking for a new president since November 2010 and this may be the final chapter of this tale. The new president (whoever it may be) will take some of the work load that the current CEO, Howard Stringer has been feeling for the last months and hopefully make the company altogether more productive.

Sony has commented on the news as a brief statement given to Bloomberg saying that they have not yet decided who will take the spot, but they have not denied that Mr. Hirai is a possibility.

Let?s see what comes from this and hopefully we can expect better results from Sony in the future, particularly on the mobile space.
